Andy Evans

I’m a Senior Lecturer in GeoComputation and GIS at the University of Leeds, and co-founder of the MASS Group along with Dr Alison Heppenstall.  I’m interested in pretty much everything, which is why I’m a geographer, but specifically in terms of modelling I’m interested in the techie side of modelling and how we use modelling to talk about the world. I’m currently working on the ethics of modelling.

If you’re interested in my academic stuff, please see my University home page. If you’d like to know more about why I got into this stuff, see this interview on Hacking the University (with its very serious looking photo). The two courses I teach are online: Programming for GI Analysts: Core Skills; Programming for GI Analysts: Advanced Skills if you’d like to check those out.
